Juho Pohjonen
Piano

Finnish pianist Juho Pohjonen, honoured with the Klavier Festival Ruhr Scholarship by Sir András Schiff in 2009, has established himself as a versatile artist on the international concert stage.
His performances have brought him together with many of the world’s finest orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, and BBC Philharmonic, in collaborations with conductors Marin Alsop, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Osmo Vänskä.
He has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Wigmore Hall, while his passion for chamber music draws him regularly to festivals including Music@Menlo and Marlboro.
A graduate of the Sibelius Academy, where he studied with Meri Louhos and Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna, completing his Master’s Degree in 2008, Pohjonen continues to explore new musical horizons.
His recording “Visionaries of the Keyboard” features works ranging from Rameau and Scriabin to contemporary compositions by Brett Dean and Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen. Most recently, he has bridged the worlds of classical music and technology by creating MyPianist, an innovative AI-based iOS app for interactive piano accompaniment.
